Bangkok, Thailand – March 31st, 2016 – Rabbit and LINE Pay announce the business partnership agreement in Thailand between Rabbit, the first smartcard for mass transit systems and offline e-payment at retail and LINE Pay, an innovative mobile payment platform from LINE, under the entity named “LINE Biz Plus Limited”. By this agreement, Rabbit, under entity named BSS Holdings Co.,Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of BTS Group Holdings Plc, will invest into 50% of LINE Biz Plus Limited. LINE Pay will be renamed as “Rabbit LINE Pay”, Thailand 1st integrated offline and online payment platform.

Rabbit
is an offline payment platform, providing convenience to both transit
customers as well as retail customers. The Rabbit card can already be
used by customers wishing to purchase tickets on the rail mass transit
as well as for products at Rabbit’s retail merchants. Currently there
are over 5 million Rabbit Card holders and over 4,000 Rabbit Card
readers, primarily concentrated in the Bangkok Metropolitan
Region. Rabbit’s membership is supported by 20 million monthly BTS
SkyTrain riders, which are also set to see sustained growth.
LINE
Pay is an innovative and fun mobile payment platform from LINE (via the
legal entity LINE Biz Plus Limited) that provides fast, easy and
convenient payment on the go. The service continues to build on its
early success with the “Hong Bao” campaign launched in February of this
year, achieving over 8 million transactions in just a week. In less than
a year, the number of registered users has grown to 1.5 million and the
number of participating merchants to over 300 merchants nationwide.
Mr. Nelson Leung, Chief Executive Officer of BSS Holdings Co., Ltd., (“Rabbit”) has announced that Rabbit has made an investment into LINE
Biz Plus Limited (“LINE Pay”) on 50:50 to form this joint venture
partnership. Mr. Nelson said “This is a landmark deal for Rabbit.
Rabbit LINE Pay will become Thailand’s first integrated online and
offline payment platform and is in a prime position to capture the
e-payment market. The convenience of an e-payment is irrefutable and
Thailand is fast moving towards a cashless society”

deal immediately expands Rabbit’s potential reach to LINE’s 33 million
users and enables access to the upcountry market. Through collaboration
of Rabbit and LINE Pay, customers will enjoy seamless convenience for
payment solutions across both offline and online merchants. Furthermore,
this joint venture partnership will strongly support government policy
in driving Thai people into the cashless society” Mr. Nelson added.
Mr. Jin Woo Lee, Country Manager of LINE Biz Plus Limited (“LINE
Pay”) mentioned that Rabbit is the leading payment service with lots of
affiliated well-known offline merchants such as McDonald’s, Tesco Lotus
and Big C etc. while LINE Pay has a strong online merchant base over
300 merchants nationwide featuring by top e-commerce sites in Thailand
such as Lazada, ENSOGO etc. By this joint venture, we believe that
cashless society will be implemented and growth among Thai user very
well and it will become one of the trend in Thai payment industry.

As
of today, the first service of Rabbit LINE Pay joint venture will be
launched with Key merchants, as pilot case around Q3/2016 and full
service will be released in Bangkok area around Q4/2016 accordingly.

as a lots of beneficial reward programs from both LINE Pay and Rabbit
