(30 January 2023) Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has announced the opening of the event “Thailand National Cyber Week 2023” to be held on 17 – 18 February 2023 from 10.00 – 17.00 at Samyan Mitrtown Hall 5, 5th Floor, Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok. The opening ceremony was presided over by Air Vice Marshal Amorn Chomchoey, Secretary General of the National Cyber Security Agency, along with Major General Teerawut Wittayakorn, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Cyber Security Agency. The event aims to strengthen the national cybersecurity, integrate and impose measures and mechanisms to improve the potential of critical information infrastructure (CII), government agencies, private sectors, educational institutions, academic staff, researchers, instructors, students, including the general public to exchange explicit knowledge and experiences in technology and cybersecurity as well as raising cybersecurity awareness, increasing the capabilities, establishing the potential network for entrepreneurs in preventing, responding and mitigating damages to Thailand’s CII.


AVM Amorn Chomchoey, Secretary General of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), stated that presently cyber threats come in various forms and conditions, which differ considerably from those in the past, and have widely impacted on many sectors. Therefore, NCSA is planning “Thailand National Cyber Week 2023” to meet cybersecurity plans and policies, aiming and issuing guidelines for integrating, addressing, establishing measures and mechanisms in securing national cyberspace.


The organization of the event “Thailand National Cyber Week 2023” hosted by NCSA, is emphasized on the distinctions from the previous events through the concept “Secure your cyber, Secure your future”, which signifies that securing the cyber world is equivalent to securing your future. NCSA has been assigned to propagate the cybersecurity knowledge with plain and direct-to-the-point language for general understanding among all target audiences such as state agencies, private sectors, academic staff, educational institutions, and civil society to be aware of all types of cyber threats which can adversely affect the national economy and society. It is expected that all parties would fully integrate and leverage the knowledge gained from the event in order to protect themselves and expand cybersecurity businesses as well as improving the overall performance of entrepreneurs and agencies in all sectors to compete in a global world and prevent themselves from future threats.


The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), in partnership with alliances, will host exhibition booths showcasing cybersecurity research and products by Thai startups and university students from Thai educational institutions, and hold a consultation session in cybersecurity fields, together with seminars and conferences by local and overseas qualified experts, the showcases of cybersecurity advances by more than 80 local and international cybersecurity agencies/companies, and business matching opportunities with vendors/service providers and companies interested in distributing cybersecurity solutions for Thai businesses and the general public. Additionally, the event unfolds the new dimension to recruiting new cybersecurity talents with Cyber Job Fair, a golden employment opportunity with over 10 qualified organizations, state agencies and leading private companies. Exhibition booths showcasing cybersecurity research projects and products are also available at no cost for Thai startups and educational institutions. All participants would have opportunities to exchange explicit knowledge and experiences in technology and cybersecurity fields. The event as well promotes the awareness and the importance of cybersecurity, extending the capabilities to all sectors in preventing themselves from cyber threats as well as encouraging entrepreneurs to compete and offering opportunities to promote products related to cybersecurity technology.
