“XTERRA Off Road Triathlon and Trail Run” is back! Thailand is proud to announce its debut event in the Asia Pacific Championship 2017- Road to Hawaii!.
After the success of XTERRA Samui in September 2016 in Koh Samui, AMA and XTERRA will deliver the next “ XTERRA Off Road Triathlon and Trail Run” on April 1st, 2017 at Layan Beach in Phuket, Thailand.
Phuket boasts their easy accessibility and beautiful tourist attractions, with their very own international airport, as well as Phuket’s pristine beaches along with phenomenal and challenging trails.
“ XTERRA Phuket 2017” will offer 2 different events on the same day:
- XTERRA Off Road Triathlon and Duathlon (Part of the XTERRA offroad triathlon world and Asia Pacific Series)
- XTERRA Trail run (Part of the XTERRA Trail running world championship 2017)
- Offroad Triathlon includes swimming, mountain biking and trail running
- Duathlon is Trail running, Mountain biking then trail running again
- Trail run event will offer a 30km, 13km and 3 km for families and children
Both events will also offer free tickets to all categories winners to participate in the XTERRA World Championship finals in Hawaii end of the year.

The XTERRA off road triathlon race series is considered to be the sport’s world championship. The professional triathletes are to compete for an outstanding prize, while amateurs race for national titles and slots to the World Championship, which is to be held in the beautiful state of Hawaii. The countries participating in the XTERRA Asia Pacific World Tour Championship the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Saipan, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand. XTERRA Phuket will attract 500 athletes from all around the world with 7500 US$ in prize money purse.
Main partners are Tourism Authority of Thailand, (TAT), Bangkok Airways and Singha Corporation.It will also stimulate the tourism in Phuket during lower season, said director of event organizer AMA-Events Serge Henkens.
