May 23, 2016 – dtac continues its WiFi Calling rollout by launching WiFi Calling service on iPhone for the first time in Thailand. dtac postpaid and prepaid customers who have iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone SE can start using WiFi Calling after upgrading their iPhone to iOS 9.3 onward, update carrier bundle to dtac 24.1 and completing the setup. WiFi Calling is the next generation of technology that enables voice calls to be made and received over a WiFi network without any application from anywhere in the world. The service charges the same rate as regular mobile calls inside Thailand.

The WiFi Calling service charges the same rate under the current plan. Calling from outside Thailand back to Thailand over WiFi does not require a prefix and is the same rate as making an in-country call. For the most convenient and hassle free experience, customers do not need to apply for a new package or subscribe to an add-on service to use WiFi Calling.
dtac is the first operator in Thailand to launch WiFi Calling service on iPhone. The service is now available for dtac postpaid and prepaid customers who have upgraded their iPhone to latest iOS 9.3 onward and update carrier bundle to dtac 24.1. WiFi Calling or VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi) is a service that allows dtac customers to make and receive voice calls over a WiFi network anywhere in the world, using their existing numbers on supported devices, without any application required. The service supports calls to both fixed and mobile phones, which is unlike traditional VoIP that requires applications to make calls.
