Deepening Ties with local Tech and Startup Community
Thailand, Bangkok – 22nd April 2016 – LINE today officially announces “LINE HACK”, LINE Thailand’s first hackathon event aimed at creating new innovative services leveraging the LINE platform, and supporting the local startup eco-system. The registration starts today until 30th April 2016 via LINE HACK website.

LINE HACK is the first big competition hosted by LINE Thailand that allows developers, hackers, designers, software houses and startups who are interested in leveraging LINE’s “Business Connect” API and platform, to create new products and services for the 33 million Thai consumers using LINE. The event is sponsored by Siam Commercial Bank PCL (SCB), Wongnai and Appsynth.
Ariya Banomyong, Managing Director of LINE Thailand stated: “Earlier this year, we announced the “LINE Beyond Chat” vision. Today, we are asking the local Tech and Startup community to work with us in making this a reality, developing new and innovative services for Thai consumers, by providing access to the Business Connect and BOT API. LINE is opening up its platform to this community to potentially engage with 33 million LINE users. We are excited to see what Thai developers will come up with, and be able to support the Tech and Startup community in Thailand.”
“It is our first time hosting the LINE HACK in Thailand. Developers are new to our APIs, if there are winning ideas that meet our criteria, we will potentially launch these new services.” he added.
LINE HACK will announce 12 shortlisted teams on 4th May 2016 and official competition day will be held on 14th -15th May 2016 at the SCB Innovation Center.
