from Fukuroi city, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan
‘V Foods’ has announced it is ready to excite the Thai premium fruit market with the introduction of ‘Crown Melon’, Japan’s best-known premium fruit brand overseas, into Thailand. Crown Melon offers top-quality, world-famous melons grown from the best sources in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and it aims to win the hearts of discerning consumers who appreciate prime-quality imported fruits.

Mr. Apirak Kosayodhin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, V Foods (Thailand) Co., Ltd., revealed that, “At V Foods, we pride ourselves in our commitment to become Thailand’s leading food and beverage producer and distributor. Today, we are delighted to announce our partnership with P & F Technology Co., Ltd.; Matsugen Co., Ltd.; Crown Melon Agricultural Cooperative; and, the Mayor of Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan – all to bring prime-quality imported fruit of various kinds into Thailand. Our collaboration begins with the introduction of Crown Melon, the top-quality, internationally-renowned melons grown from the best sources in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. We hope that this will be a great start of our efforts to bring in premium-grade imported fruit at its optimum best for our Thai consumers to enjoy from Japan.”
“Melon is regarded as Japan’s ‘King of Fruit’ and ‘Crown Melon’ is Japan’s best-known premium fruit brand overseas. With only one melon harvested from each tree, our melons are light and delicately sweet with a melty soft texture. Three flowers are selected from each melon tree for pollination. The best melon is determined from the three small melons. Two inferior ones are then chopped off to allow the most promising one to benefit from all the nourishment from the vine. A few more days after that, ripening melons will start developing a hard skin with cracks. This pattern of cracks is called a network. This is the time when melon growers pay even more special attention to their produce by cleaning each melon every day. Approximately, from seeding to harvesting, a premium-grade melon takes around 100 days.”

“We are determined to bringing such attention to detail and commitment to excellence to the melon-loving Thai consumers. We know that many Thais who travel to Japan always buy Japanese melons back as presents, so we are confident that ‘Crown Melon’ will receive a very warm welcome from Thai consumers.”, added Mr. Apirak.

Initially, prime-quality melons from Crown Melon will be available at TOPS Online and Central Food Hall outlets at CentralWorld, Central Childlom and CentralFestival EastVille from December 2015 onwards..
