Bangkok—On June 9, 2015, Canon launched its latest products that deliver exceptional quality and high resolution. Among these breakthrough innovations are the top-of-the-line 50.6 megapixel EOS 5DsR and the EOS 5Ds—its highest-ever resolution DSLR cameras.
It also unveiled the 4K digital camcorder Cinema EOS XC10, the entry-level DSLR EOS 760D and EOS 750D, the mirrorless EOS M3, the PowerShot SX, and the compact superzoom IXUS equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, as well as the Canon Connect Station CS100, which makes it easier than ever to share, back up and enjoy photos and movies with 1TB of storage.
Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Chng Boon Chye stated, “Canon has become the world’s leading brand of digital cameras since its foundation in 1937. Its groundbreaking products, especially DSLR cameras, are very well-received among the consumers worldwide. These cameras have been the world’s best sellers for 12 consecutive years.”
Despite the fact that smart phones have exponentially grown in popularity, Canon consider this as a good business opportunity for the near future. “As the young generation tends to take photos more than ever, the photos they shoot are expected to be of higher quality. Therefore, digital cameras with a competitive edge are those with exceptional quality, and quality is always at the heart of Canon’s production. As a leading digital camera maker, we aim to provide knowledge on photography while instilling the love for photography in the young generation. To promote “Canon Photo Culture”, we have planned to launch over 200 projects in 2015 which include photo contests, workshops, seminars, training courses, etc.,” added Mr. Warin Tantipongpanich, Senior Director and General Manager at Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Canon has introduced an extensive array of products to satisfy the diverse needs of all target customers ranging from the general public to those in the mass production arena. For professionals and production purposes, Canon have the groundbreaking 50.6 megapixel EOS 5DsR and EOS 5Ds, which combine a full-frame (35 mm sized) sensor with a Dual DIGIC 6 image processor, 61-point, High Density Reticular AF system, and the newly designed camera mirror shake reduction system. Targeting professional photographers, these cameras are well suited for both indoors and outdoors shooting, and advertising purposes requiring large-sized files with exceptional image quality.
Another outstanding product is the Cinema EOS XC10. Featuring a compact, lightweight body design, this 4K video camcorder incorporates an approximately 12.0-megapixel sensor for high-resolution still image quality. Ideal for professional and advanced-amateur videographers, it is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring a high level of shooting mobility, from the shooting of promotion videos and documentaries to news gathering shooting. The new XC10 employs a high-sensitivity 1.0-inch CMOS sensor, a video lens offering 10x optical zoom, and the high-performance DIGIC5 imaging platform.
Also, Canon launched the entry-level DSLR cameras EOS 760D and EOS 750D for photography hobbyists and DSLR novices. Boasting user-friendly new features, built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, the two affordable alternatives are capable of capturing both impressive video and high-image-quality photographs.
As for compact digital cameras, Canon unveiled the mirrorless EOS M3 incorporating the same technology found in the professional EOS cameras—yet, in a compact body design. With the APS-C sized 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor (similar to EOS DSLRs’ sensors), you are capable of capturing photos and movies packed with detail and color, and thanks to the advanced Hybrid CMOS AF III, fast, smooth autofocus can be easily achieved. What’s more is you can effortlessly share images and movies using Wi-Fi and NFC, and change your lens to see the world from a different point of view by choosing from the EF-M and EF lens range or use one of over 70 lenses designed for EOS DSLRs.
Apart from these, Canon’s product lineup has extended to the seven user-friendly compact superzoom PowerShot SX and IXUS, which come with 18x – 50x optical zoom and the Zoom Framing Assist function as well as built-in Wi-Fi and NFC.
These cameras are compatible with the Canon Connect Station CS100, which lets you share your most memorable moments to other Wi-Fi-equipped cameras from Canon, TVs, smart phones, and tablets through Wi-Fi and NFC, while giving you up to 1 TB of storage. The CS100 can also play its contents on your TV screen, so you can enjoy your photos and videos in large groups.
