Dell PowerEdge FX portfolio expanded for further infrastructure flexibility
By combining the density and efficiencies of blade servers with the simplicity and cost advantages of rack-based systems, the Dell PowerEdge FX allows customers to better manage, scale and budget for infrastructure to meet the needs of the business now and into the future. The Dell PowerEdge FX portfolio will include three new modules to offer enterprises even more options for changing application demands. This gives customers even more ability to add or swap IT building blocks into a 2U converged infrastructure chassis. The new building blocks include PowerEdge FD332, PowerEdge FC430 and PowerEdge FC830.

Dell also announced the expansion of its 13th generation PowerEdge servers including the PowerEdge R930, Dell’s most powerful server specifically designed for the most demanding enterprise applications.
Featuring up to 72 processing cores of Intel Xeon E7-8800/4800 v3 family of processors, up to 6TB of memory in 96 DIMMs, 24 internal hard drives and support for up to eight high performance PowerEdge Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSDs, the PowerEdge R930 enables customers to maximize application performance and flexibility scale workloads.

These newly launched solutions are testament to Dell’s continuous focus on innovation and stronghold on the server market. Dell recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its PowerEdge servers and today holds the No. 2 position in the global x86 server market - a market that has grown more than 600 percent since 1996.

High-Performing, Cost-Efficient Storage Solutions Designed for Future Growth
Several new storage offerings designed to help businesses and organizations were also announced. The new Dell Storage SCv2000 Series offers customers the first entry-level storage arrays with the same common management and several of the core features as higher-end Dell SC Series arrays. Extending Dell Storage Center software to entry-level arrays allows customers to standardize on a common platform, helping them save time, management costs and operational overhead. The new Dell PS6610 Series arrays support critical business applications and are ideal for customers with large data repository requirements. The arrays ship with Dell EqualLogic PS Series Array Software 8.0 which provides new space-saving features, such as compression of snapshots and replicas.

Dell also unveiled Dell Storage with Microsoft Storage Spaces, which is designed to support Microsoft’s SDS capabilities on Dell’s enterprise-class server and direct attached storage hardware.

Delivering Future-Ready Open Networking Solutions for the Software-Defined Era
Dell has also enhanced its data center portfolio with the new Z9100, S4048, and the S3048, giving customers operating system choices with low latency and high density, flexible 1, 10, 25, 40, and 100GbE switching to address the shift to next-generation multi-rate, open-enabled architectures. In line with Dell’s commitment to moving beyond proprietary stacks to customer-centric open architectures, these switches support the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) to allow for a zero-touch install of all pre-qualified operating systems, including Dell Networking OS9 and third party options.
