Amazon Global Selling Sets up the Team in Thailand

Helping Thai Sellers Explore Online Export Channel and Expand International Business by Reaching Amazon Global Customers
Bangkok, Thailand, 23rd April 2019 — Amazon Global Selling today announced setting up a dedicated team in Thailand, aiming at helping Thai sellers, brand owners and manufacturers to explore online export opportunities and to expand their international business by reaching Amazon global customers, Amazon.com first through Amazon Global Selling. Amazon Global Selling Thailand team will provide educational support to potential Thai sellers with respect to selling on Amazon onboarding process including account registration, listing creation, account operation, Fulfillment by Amazon, and more. The team will collaborate with local service providers to support Thai sellers with comprehensive solutions related to export such as logistics and international online payment.
As a rising manufacturing base, exports represent important growth engine for Thailand’s economy. According to reports issued by Thailand government, currently there are 3 million SMEs making up 99.7% of Thai businesses and Thai government aims to further upgrade the contribution of SMEs to the Thai economy. Amazon FBA also helps make international shipping and logistics become cost effective and time saving for us. Viris Zamara, a Thai seller specialized in manufacturing apparel products, has launched on Amazon.com in 2018 which has helped him grow his business by 50% “Amazon enables us to expand our business to international markets. Amazon also offers complete solution that help me build global online business. We have been leveraging Amazon FBA to effectively manage orders and stocks. FBA makes it easier to manage product exchange and return, which is one of the key challenges for apparel business. We are also a big fan of Amazon Sponsored Product as it has helped us reach and draw shoppers to visit our product pages, where we can directly trigger more purchase,” said Niwat Eakratchadakron, Owner of Viris Zamara.

Wilkins Cleanser, a Thai seller specialized in shoes’ cleansing products, started business with Amazon in October 2018. Within 6 months, Amazon has grown their business by 30% and their hero product-Midsole Marker ranked top selling item and received positive customer reviews. “We were looking for the right channel to scale our business through international expansion and Amazon was the trusted channel to achieve our goal. We also learned a lot about customer insight from Amazon’s product review. These insights served as important input for us to develop new products for US customers. We plan to further grow our selection in Amazon,” said Prem Sudsangket, CEO of Wilkins Cleanser.  
3rd party businesses on Amazon come from more than 130 countries around the world. In 2018 Letter to Shareholders, third-party sales have grown from 3% of the total to 58% from 1999 to 2018. In 2018, more than 50,000 small and medium-sized businesses exceeded $500,000 in sales in Amazon’s stores worldwide, and nearly 200,000 surpassed $100,000 in sales. The number of small and medium-sized businesses eclipsing $1 million in sales in Amazon’s stores worldwide grew by 20 percent last year.
