30 January 2019 – dtac is expanding its core business by launching a full-service platform for electric scooters and motorcycles. Building on dtac’s mobile connectivity, the service will allow electric two-wheelers to benefit from a network of charging stations and services.
Not only are the electric vehicles more convenient, they offer a substantial benefit in reducing air pollution. Currently, Bangkok is at dangerous levels of fine particles. Fumes from older and poorly maintained petrol engines account for 50-60% of the fine dust particles most toxic to humans, making electric vehicles an urgent necessity for the quality of life of urbanites in Thailand.
dtac is the first telecommunications company in Thailand to announce a broad collaboration with leading manufacturers and partners in the electric motorcycle industry. The platform will provide a new alternative to those looking for clean transportation in the city, in addition to driving performance and cost savings. dtac’s electric vehicle platform will officially launch at the Thailand Mobile Expo 2019 on February 7 at BITEC Bangna.
