China Southern Airlines, the largest airliner in Asia, and number 4 in the world has launched a new route to Mexico City in “Hola! Fly Me to México,” a new route launching event on March 9, 2017 at Mexicano Restaurant, Rembrandh Hotel Bangkok with a list of honorable guests such as Mr.Cen Ling, General Manager for Thailand China Southern Airlines, Ms.Zhang Peidong, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, H.E. Mr.Jaime Nualart, Ambassador of United of Mexican States, Mr.Suparerk Soorangura, President of Thai Travel Agents Association, to share a part of chairman of the launching ceremony
Mr.Cen Ling, General Manager for Thailand China Southern Airlines informed that China Southern Airlines is now the Largest Airliner in Asia and also number 4 in the world with more than 700 fleets operating 1,062 destinations in 177 countries to Asia, Europe, America, Middle East and Australia. The safety record shows that they have been flying safely over 17.14 million hours. In 2016 they have been servicing more than 115 million passengers all around the world. Recently in Thailand, there are flights operating between Thailand and China departing from Bangkok, Chiangmai, Phuket to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Guilin, Changsha, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Guiyang, and Shenyang, 260 flights weekly, around 20 flight daily. In 2016, they launched 2 route (Dec 7, 2016) daily flight to Toronto, Canada, (Oct 10, 2016) 3 flights / week to Adelaide, Australia.
In 2017, there will be 3 flights / week, departing on Monday, Thursday, Saturday, to Mexico City, Mexico and returning on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. the total flight time is 26 hours including layover time in Guangzhou and Vancouver which will be shorter than other airline around 7 - 14 hours. For the fleet, it will be Boeing 737-800 for Bangkok - Guangzhou, Boeing 787 Dream liner for Guangzhou - Mexico City. An inaugural flight will be operated on April 10, 2017. The Economy class ticket starts from 35,730 (including VAT)
The main target passenger of this route are Mexican expat, Thai business people, traders and there are more from Chinese and Mexican business people recently. They also expand the route to operate cover main cities in North and South America, which are Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, and latest Mexico City.
