- Several news agencies believe that the past year was a
golden year for startups, with the private sector pouring in support to
the startup industry through a number of startup events and the
establishment of innovation centers to help startups create new
technology-based products and services, aiming to disrupt
the traditional customer behavior. The government is also driving the
country towards Thailand 4.0 or a value-based or innovation-driven
economy, transforming traditional farming into smart farming,
traditional SME’s into smart enterprises, and traditional
services into high-value services.
Mr. Sompoat Chansomboon, Director, dtac accelerate, Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, said, “dtac
accelerate was launched
as a startup program in Thailand 5 years ago in 2012, and over time the
program has grown into a world-class incubator, packed with startup
curriculum and gurus, and has
helped enhance the capabilities and ideas of Thai startups. dtac
accelerate, the number one incubator in Thailand, has an interesting
track record of raising funds, developing training courses, and
producing much-admired startups at several
startup events. We hope that the collaboration between the government
and the private sector would bring new rising startups to the industry,
which would help accelerate the country’s drive towards Thailand 4.0”a
