Huawei enjoys over 200% sales growth and tripled market share

Mate 9 Series and GR5 2017 to dominate the smartphone market at every level
Leading smartphone producer Huawei Consumer Business Group is making a splash on the global smartphone market with its release of the new Huawei Mate 9 Series and the Huawei GR5 2017. The new generation of smartphones feature not only premium design and cutting edge technology, but also Huawei’s signature premium dual-camera, designed to give every user a groundbreaking experience. 
Michael Jing, Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group Thailand proclaims, “2016 was a great year for Huawei, because despite the slowing economy, Huawei sales increased 200% from last year. We also anticipate tripling our market share, exceeding our target. We hope to achieve this by expanding distribution channels, prioritizing quality, and continuing to leverage our strategic partnerships with world-class companies.”

“In order to expand distribution channels, Huawei is commencing sales though network providers as well as increasing authorized dealer booths. We plan to be available at every channel so consumers can conveniently access and buy our devices.

“Secondly, Huawei leads the smartphone market by prioritizing quality at accessible price points.  We can do this by investing 10% of our annual revenue into research & development; it allows Huawei to produce smartphones that meet consumers’ every needs.

“And in addition, Huawei emphasizes our partnerships with world-class companies, in which we successfully leverage each partner’s strengths to build smartphones of the highest quality and user experience.  This is proven by our highly successful Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, which have sold over 9 million devices worldwide. In Thailand itself, the P9 Series was one of the top-selling smartphones.

“Our success demonstrates that with good quality and a good product, we can earn the trust and respect of Thai consumers. Our brand gains recognition every day,” finished Jing.

The Huawei Mate 9 Series, another step forward for Android smartphones, is comprised of the Huawei Mate 9 and the Huawei Mate 9 Pro. The Thailand launch symbolizes the first launch in Southeast Asia. The Huawei Mate 9 Series consist of high-end smartphones that successfully marry hardware and software, owing to its brand-new Kirin 960 chipset. It also features cutting-edge technology SuperCharge, which gains a full day’s battery on only a 20-minute charge, and the newest generation of the Leica dual-camera, which has a 2x optical zoom, 20mp resolution monochrome sensor, and 12mp RGB sensor. This answers the needs of sophisticated users who need top performance from the fastest Android smartphone on the market.

The Huawei GR5 2017, the most affordable dual-camera, is priced at sub-10,000THB: the first of its kind at this pricepoint, with premium design and technology. It performs well, with strong battery life. The dual-cameras feature a 12mp resolution and 2mp resolution, which allow users to take beautiful, professional shots. Furthermore, Huawei announces GR5 2017’s new brand ambassador, Mew Nittha Jirayungyurn, who will strengthen the brand’s image and reinforce brand appeal.
