Bangkok – 17 May 2016 – With recognition of potential in children with disabilities, the Vejdusit Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, and Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS) extend their efforts in driving change and opportunity for the children, with the launch of ‘Unlimited Dreams Year 2 – The Hero’, the sequel of the organizations’ successful campaign that was introduced last year.
This year, the campaign once again kicked off with a short film urging children with disabilities, along with the public to realize that there is a superhero inside everyone; all it takes is the courage to dream and becoming the person they are aspired to be. The campaign also encourages the society to step up as a hero in helping children with disabilities to unleash their potentials by offering the access to good education, career opportunities and equality.
Assoc. Prof. Ajjima Srethaputr (first from right), Committee Member and Secretary of Vejdusit Foundation said that Vejdusit Foundation and BDMS hope to be a key driver in the society in strengthening the capabilities and equal opportunity for children with disabilities, so that they can grow to be quality citizens for Thailand. Last year, the organizations were off to a good start with the success of the first Unlimited Dreams short film. The film has created serious social conversations among the public and social influencers with more than 7.5 million reach alone from Facebook, and two million views within one and a half months after launch, twice the target goal. The movie was also shared almost 120,000 times by the public. With the concept well spread, impressive movements were seen from both government and private sectors pitching in more vigorously for the disables.”
“’Unlimited Dreams Year 2 – The Hero’ will focus on building role models for children with disabilities by encouraging the children to look up to their heroes, or becoming their own heroes and unleash their ‘inner superheroes’, or potentials to be anything, as long as they cross over any limitation, dare to dream, and walk towards the chosen path with perseverance,” said Assoc. Prof. Ajjima,
The key targets for ’Unlimited Dreams Year 2 – The Hero’ are children with disabilities, their families and friends in order to create inspiration, boost confidence and igniting their passion through various activities throughout the year 2016. At the same time, the campaign is aimed to continue urging the public to take part in making the change in society.
’Unlimited Dreams Year 2 – The Hero’ will include the following activities:
- Unlimited Dreams Year 2 – The Hero short film, launched on May 16, 2016
- Continuous engagement activities on social media.
- Inspiring Workshops: Meet the Heroes, creating a chance for children with disabilities to meet and be inspired by role models in sport, music and arts.
