KADOKAWA GROUP Launched The First Japanese School of Animation in Thailand

in Response to The Expansion of Japanese Entertainment Market in ASEAN.

It is the first Japanese school of design, animation and comic in Thailand as to transfer techniques for those interested with an opportunity to step into the Japanese media entertainment business professionally.     KADOKAWA GROUP, a Japanese giant enterprise of creative media and animation and complete comics (Manga) established KADOKAWA Contents Academy Company Limited to expand its investment in teaching in Thailand by launching "KADOKAWA Animation & Design School" to weave the dream of Thai students and those interested in animation design and Japanese cartoon business to meet the popularity of Japanese media business in Thailand. This industry is worth more than 4,600 million baht per year.
    Mr. Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, Chairman of KADOKAWA GROUP in Japan revealed that "KADOKAWA GROUP consisted of potential network companies engaged in publishing media, video, internet and more. We are proud to be one of the largest media companies in Japan, especially the manufacturer of entertainment media that possesses the copyright of comic magazine (Manga) over 40 light novels, more than 10 animations. We also own a game studio that gives us the mega characters that are subject to our copyright. Since the various forms of Japanese entertainment media become popular worldwide, KADOKAWA Group chooses to expand our investment in teaching. The goal is to open "KADOKAWA Animation & Design School" in 12 countries in Asia, including the first school in Taiwan, starting in the year 2014 and the second one in Thailand. Thailand is not only the country with good economic growth in Southeast Asia, but with a high level of favor in Japanese cartoons and animations. These Japanese media have the value of more than 4,600 million baht per year.  

Thus, with the potential of large media producer and its strengths in the creation of contents for development can achieve the added value in many different ways. We are ready to support our students to become successful and powerful in driving domestic entertainment industry as a leading creative professional. After learning the techniques to produce the original Japanese contents from our own schools, they can be eligible for internship opportunity and short-term employment with KADOKAWA GROUP in Japan or step up to the debut of works under various forms of our entertainment available to give them full support."  
Moreover, Mr. Tetsuya KOGA, President and CEO of Kadoka Content Academy Company Limited, a subsidiary which is responsible for overseeing the school business, disclosed "KADOKAWA GROUP is a professional in creating animations and cartoons, the new generation of Japanese culture which is constantly popular. Teaching programs of "KADOKAWA Animation & Design School", thus, convey the expertise of the content production of Japan to foreign students who intend to learn the creation of the masterpiece from our professionals. Preliminarily, there are 2 courses being offered. The Character Design Course which focuses on illustration for commercial use of light novels or game illustrations on smart phones, which are in demand of the market, and Manga course which emphasizes the learning process of producing the Japanese style comics directly from Japanese instructors. We wish to take advantage of deploying our strengths as a leading manufacturer of media entertainment in support for our students in all schools in order to be able to step into the path of a professional or project their ability to meet the needs of the market. For example, one of our initial classes of students in Taiwan who graduated in September last year, has become a professional illustrator and worked with Kadoka said that the card game called "Ange Vierge", the famous, is very rare for new graduates who improve to be professional immediately after graduation. Character Design Course  
This course, students will learn how to draw a commercial illustration such as a light novel illustration and a smart phone game illustration for example. The demands of these kinds of commercial illustrations are rising in recent years.

  • Study 3 hours per class or  2 classes per week and 10 classes per course
  • Total 30 hours per course
  • Tuition fee is 24,000 THB
  1. Intermediate Course
  • Study 3 hours per class or 2 classes per week and 20 classes per course
  • Total 60 hours per course
  • Tuition fee is 48,000 THB  
  1. Advance Course
  • 3 hours per class or 2 classes per week and 20 classes per course
  • Total 60 hours per course
  • Tuition fee 48,000 THB
Manga Course
This course, Students will learn the unique Japanese cartoon production method from Japanese instructor.
There are 3 levels for this Manga Course
  1. Beginners Course
  • 3 hours per class or 2 classes per week and 10 classes per course
  • Total 30 hours per course  
  • Tuition fee is 27,000 THB
  1. Intermediate Course
  • 3 hours per class or 2 classes per week and 20 classes per course
  • Total 60 hours per course  
  • Tuition fee is 54,000 THB
  1. Advance Course
  • 3 hours per class or 2 classes per week and 20 classes per course
  • Total 60 hours per course
  • Tuition fee is 54,000 THB
"These 2 programs are Japanese syllabus that character design course will be taught by Thai instructors with experience and the works accepted in Japan while the Manga course will be taught by Japanese teachers via an interpreter who helps convey the knowledge in classroom as well as teaching in schools in Taiwan, which has no impacts on learning. We expect "KADOKAWA Animation & Design School" will produce the best Manga artist or illustrator with more skill to feed the market as many as we could. We hope to be part of promoting and driving the entertainment media, animation and comic industry of Thailand to advance into the global market", Tetsuya Koga concluded.
     In addition, "KADOKAWA Animation & Design School" is also preparing other additional courses such as animation course, card game illustrator course, light novel course, and voice actor course, etc., and plans to expand the investment in other countries in Asia like Singapore, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, etc.
