Distinguished guests, executives of Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, members of the press, business partners and friends. Good morning. Thank you all very much for taking the time to be here today.

It is a great pleasure to be here today and have the opportunity to share with you that Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya will welcome its first guests on December 15

We have had a long association with Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard and this is another step in realizing the long term vision of the founders of Siam Motors.

We believed that in time Bangkok would become closer and closer to Pattaya and that the two cities would cooperate closely in business, trade and tourism.

Improved road links and the close proximity of Suvarnabhumi International Airport have brought Bangkok and Pattaya ever closer together. U-Tapao International Airport is serving the eastern part of Thailand and Indochina and airlines will increasingly hub out of there for regional and international destinations.

There is also a high-speed train service planned that will bring the two cities every closer together and further drive tourism to Pattaya.

The Eastern Seaboard’s economy is thriving with a strong automobile industry and indeed a large Japanese community living there. We have invested over many years and are the owners as many of you will know of Siam Country Club was the first golf course in the region.

The three courses are the Old Course, Waterside and Plantation, where the Honda LPGA Championship is held, now in its 9 th year.

The vision of our founders has always taught us to look forward and to pioneer new activities and businesses.

Today we feel we are pioneering a new beginning for Na Jomtien, a pristine beach perfect for families and this is where we will soon be opening Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya.

We considered our partners long and hard for the hotel and we decided that Mövenpick had all the credentials required to realize our vision for the destination and for the high standards of hospitality that we would like to deliver.

There is no higher standard in hospitality that Swiss standards – where a culture of hospitality can be found that perfectly blends efficiency with culinary flair and we are sure that our Thai and international guests will appreciate.

I very much hope you will enjoy Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Thank you.

Dr Phornthep, senior executives of Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, members of the press, business partners and friends. Good morning.

It is with great pleasure that I am here today to speak about Pattaya as a leisure destination and as a city.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Dr Phornthep and his team at Siam Motors for the upcoming opening of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya on Na Jomtien Beach.

Siam Motors have been tremendous supporters of Pattaya over many years and most prominently in the leisure sector with golf.

I am pleased to say that I have first hand experience of Siam Country Club and its three 18-hole courses are truly amongst the very best in Thailand.

Moreover, the hosting of the prestigious annual Honda LPGA event has created worldwide recognition for Pattaya as a destination for golfers and has increased our profile on the world tourism map.

With the opening of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya we are beginning a new chapter of growth for the destination and for Na Jomtien as we develop stronger reasons for families to come to visit.

Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya is the first five-star hotel on Na Jomtien and its upscale services and facilities will be attractive to families to visit.

It will also be attractive to businesses and residents on the Eastern Seaboard to meet there, host weddings there as well as to enjoy the gourmet cuisine that will be on offer its its restaurants.

We are grateful to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts to assist in bringing their renowned services and standards to Pattaya and encourage their loyal guests worldwide to come and experience a beautiful new destination.

Na Jomtien will also be able to offer sailing and yachting opportunities to guests and we will look forward to seeing guests at the annual Top of the Gulf Regatta in May each year held at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club.

We would like to say thank you again to Siam Motors and Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts for investing in Pattaya.

I would like to say on behalf of the Mayor of Pattaya, Ittipol Khunpluem, that we will continue to work hard to ensure road, rail and air infrastructure and access continues to improve in the years to come and we support your ongoing investments.

I will look forward to seeing you all in Pattaya soon.

Thank you.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Senior Vice President Asia, Andrew Langdon
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, members of the press, business partners and friends. Thank you all very much for taking the time to be here today.

I am delighted to announce the opening of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya on December 15 in what is a new important addition of Mövenpick in a prime location in Thailand.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is an international hotel management company and we launched more than 40 years ago in Switzerland. Our founder was Ueli Prager and we originally started as a restaurant brand – so food is very much at the heart of what we do.

We currently operate 83 hotels and resorts worldwide. We have 22 in Europe, 27 in the Middle East, 24 in Africa and 10 in Asia which is the main focus of our efforts moving forward as we expand in the region. The total number of rooms we manage across the world is 20,263.

Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya is our fifth hotel in Thailand – with two others in Phuket, in Bangtao and Karon, and one each in Koh Samui and Bangkok which opened earlier this year.

We are very committed to Thailand. It is our biggest market in Asia and we are continuing to grow here through great partners such as Siam Motors Group and through our unique blend of hospitality where we combine our Swiss heritage, efficiency and standards with gourmet cuisine and, of course, the destination itself.

This is one reason we are so excited about Pattaya. We greatly appreciate the Siam Motor Group team vision for the destination and we can clearly see it for ourselves too.

Na Jomtien is a gem. It is a beautiful beach as many of you will already know. It also offers a completely different view of Pattaya – which is much more family focused and the area afford access to some truly unique destination experiences that we will offer guests.

It will be a re-birth of Pattaya as an original, pristine and authentic beach destination – offering smart and upscale activities to guests from Thailand – which will be our biggest market – followed by China, Hong Kong, Singapore South Korea and traditional European markets who will be able to rediscover the wonders of the Eastern Seaboard.

We are very excited about the future of Movenpick and the future of Pattaya – and of course our collaboration with our partners Siam Motor Group

Thank you. We hope you have a fun, relaxing and fulfilling experience at our latest addition in Pattaya and we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya General Manager, Hayden Edgtton
Good morning everyone. It is my pleasure to be here today at the launch of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya and thank you for taking time to come.

I am delighted to say that very soon guests will be able to enjoy a leading international hospitality experience on Na Jomtien – one of the truly undiscovered beaches in the Eastern Seaboard.

Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya will not only be a leading hotel but one which will pioneer five-star hospitality on Na Jomtien.

We are opening the doors to a new concept, a new lifestyle proposition and a new benchmark to the region’s hospitality sector.

We are also opening up a new segment in an already well established destination as we present families with Na Jomtien Beach and a new and dynamic way to enjoy the destination with Mövenpick.

Our resort will be offering outstanding facilities, but if you ask me what would make our hotel special, I would highlight three main aspects:

Firstly, would be our upscale facilities. We have a spacious lagoon pool on the beach, water sports activities, a Kids Club full of educational and fun activities, Wave Spa offering treatments by highly experienced therapists, three gourmet restaurants and 262-rooms all with panoramic sunset views of the Gulf of Thailand.

We are also next to Ocean Marina Yacht Club where it is ideal for families and individuals to enjoy yachting and dingy sailing.

Secondly, we are proud to be able to rollout our signature, unique Swiss hospitality to guests. We will be offering special healthy children’s, called “Power Bites” and “GO Healthy” which are tasty and healthy options to maximize your stay, and your day!

Other culinary flourishes are our daily chocolate hour. These are typical Swiss touches. They are a part of Swiss culture and Mövenpick traditions - and feature in our hotels worldwide.

We will also rollout our Shine programme that supports local communities and will look forward to providing educational and inspirational activities to children in Na Jomtien at the hotel and in a series of outreach initiatives.

Finally, we have over 350 local colleagues who have embraced our internal service philosophy of Natural Enjoyment, a concept ideally perfectly suited to Thailand where there is very natural feel for hospitality. We are delighted to work with our local team and develop them to become outstanding representatives of the hotel and have the chance to develop their opportunities and careers in the future.

From my years of experience in the hospitality sector, I know that nothing is hard, when we work as a team to teamwork and to establishing Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya as the destination where guests can be themselves and embrace the upscale hospitality that we provide.

Thank you.
