EGAT organises the “LED Expo Thailand 2015”, ASEAN’s Largest International Exhibition Changing Thai behaviours and responding customers’ requirement in AEC era

     EGAT attempts to boost the use of LED technology in order to save energy and help the world by organising the LED Expo Thailand 2015. Bringing the world-class LED innovations can create an understanding, encourage Thai people switching to LED products and support the further innovation to meet the customers’ needs in AEC-era. The exhibition will be held from May 21 – 24, 2015 with using a full space of 15,000 m2.
     Mr. Saharath Boonpotipukdee, Deputy Governor - Corporate Social Affairs, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), revealed that the Ministry of Energy and EGAT has implemented a policy to promote more efficient use of energy through using the different types of technology that helps in energy conservation and environment-friendly. This measure will help to drive Thailand towards its goal of reducing energy consumption by 20% within 2030. Presently, the effort is focused on promoting more use of high-quality LED (Light Emitting Diode) equipments.

     EGAT has joined with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., and MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd., involving in operators of lighting products and technology and LED businesses, both domestic and international. LED Expo Thailand 2015, the International Exhibition on LED Lighting Products and Technology, is considered to be the largest and most comprehensive exhibition in ASEAN. It is intended to create a tangible method of energy conservation in Thailand. This will also prepare businesses to meet the needs of an ASEAN market with a population of over 600 million people that will open up for further free trade with the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of the year. These measures are especially concentrated on key groups, such as designers and architects of hotels and resorts, housing communities and condominiums, LED billboard designers, education facilities, event organisers, advertising companies, industrial parks etc.
     “Today, energy conservation is still on the list of global trends. Both private and public sectors have the same missions to enhance the efficient use of energy in all industries as their top priority. This includes encouraging the use of LED products, with area’s potential growth,” said Mr. Saharath.

     Ms. Pornpan Bulner , Director of IMPACT Exhibition Organizer, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., said, “Over 350 companies from Thailand and oversea will join in exhibiting LED innovations in areas such as LED light bulbs, LED screens, manufacturing equipment for LEDs, controllers for LED products etc. The international exhibitors include China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, America, France, India and Malaysia. This year, we have also added a new exhibit segment called “LED Decorative Lighting” in order to meet architects and interior designers’ needs as well as adding Mock Up Rooms zone which will demonstrate creative uses of LED technology in various types of spaces, for example, living rooms, offices and show rooms. This will help to clearly demonstrate the use of LEDs for modern organizations and consumers. In addition, we will also host the Thailand LED Summit, which offers interested parties a chance to update on new trends of LED’s.”
     In the meantime, the Modern Lamp Design Contest 2015, which is a competition for students in designing LED ceiling lamp for indoor use, has been hosted in the LED Expo Thailand for two consecutive years. The number of interested students has been over 200 teams which is greater than previous years. The regional selection was held in April. The entries for the 23 finalist teams will be displayed, and the winner will be selected on the May 23, 2015. The winning team will receive a trophy and a cash prize worth up to 300,000 baht from the Minister of Energy.

     LED Expo Thailand 2015 will take place from May 21 – 24, 2015 (May 21 - 23, 2015 from 11.00 – 20.00 hrs. and May 24, 2015 from 11.00 – 18.00 hrs.) at Hall 1-3, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. This year, the event has expanded from 3 days to 4 days, consisting of three trade days and one public day. The Public Day will be opened for viewing the exhibition and purchase products with special prices. The exhibition will cover an area of 15,000 sqm. which increases from 13,500 sqm. last year. It is estimated that at least 18,000 visitors or buyers, both domestic and international will attend the exhibition.
