Scania continues its strong growth, as they will introduce the New Truck Generation and a New Assembly Plant In Thailand

Following a very successful year in 2018, Scania is planning to grow by 25% the sales of trucks and services in 2019. This year will also a milestone with  the launch of New Truck Generation as well as the inauguration of a new assembly plant on February 22, 2019.
“Scania has high ambitions for the region of Asia and Oceania, and has chosen Thailand to be its strategic hub for the region” says Stefan Dorski, Managing Director of Scania Siam Co., Ltd.,  “ the regional headquarters as well as the new assembly plant are both based in the Bangkok, supporting the entire region.

During 2018, Scania has accomplished its mission to drive customer satisfaction by delivering a total solution with the best products and services in the market. The customers trust our service quality and are happy to visit our workshops. This is clearly reflected in the 25% service revenue increase. Furthermore we continue focusing on the drivers, promoting road safety and fuel efficiency. This is a part of our total solutions offering which has one objective to improve our customers profitability.
In general the Scania sales in 2018 grew in all segments, with 506 trucks and 97 buses.  For the year 2019, Scania sets a goal on above 700 units for trucks and 100 or more for buses. In addition we a expect the used truck and industrial and marine engine business to continue growing.

“Year 2019 marks a milestone for Scania in Thailand as we are launching our new generation of trucks, which have taken 10 years of research and development and more than 72 billion THB in investment.  The customer launch will take place on the same day as the factory inauguration on February 22, at Studio Park, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province, followed by an open house on February 23 where everyone will be welcome to come and discover the new truck generation. ”

Mr. Dorski continues by stressing that Scania is committed to driving sustainable transport in Thailand. We strongly believe that sustainability and profitability goes hand in hand. We are making sure that our products are the safest and smartest on the market, through connected vehicles for example. Our dedication to having the most energy efficient solution to our customers has never been stronger, with exciting news coming up with the new truck generation.    

We are encouraging Thailand to shift towards alternative fuels and reduced emissions. Scania is heavily investing in alternative and renewable fuels solutions such as biodiesel and biogas. We are happy to see that the demand for B20 diesel fuel in Thailand is increasing. All our engines can easily be adapted in our workshops to run on 100% biodiesel.   With our long and extensive experience with biodiesel in Europe, we are confident that we can reduce emissions and at the same time have a positive impact on our customers’ profitability.
