‘Dinner in the Sky’ Takes off in Thailand for the first time ever

Bangkok, Thailand, 5 January 2018Dinner In The Sky Thailand, a culinary experience high above the city skyline and hosted among the stars officially launches its inaugural flight in Bangkok today. This is the first time this global phenomenon has been made available to Thais and international visitors to Thailand. Featuring the world’s only suspended high-altitude dinner table, guests are seated securely at a height of 50m where they enjoy a four-course gourmet dinner with astonishing views of the Bangkok skyline. Dinner In The Sky Thailand is located between The Emporium Shopping Complex, the Benchasiri Park and Dinosaur Planet (right next to BTS Phrom Phong). The launch program includes a Gala event joined by VIP and media guests, and celebrities including Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Ms Plernpit Muenpon, Executive Director, Information Technology Office, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Woody and his Friends.
Operated in over 45 countries including France, USA, Holland, China, Macau, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Sweden, Taiwan, Portugal, Malaysia, Dinner In The Sky Thailand is presented in collaboration with DITS ASIA, The Emporium Group, Official Caterer: Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and Official Ride Partner: Uber Thailand.
Twenty-two VIP guests per round with specially equipped safety belts are seated around a large dinner table, with the entire Dinner In The Sky system suspended by a 200-tonne European telescopic boom crane. The experience promises front row seats to the most astonishing sunset and night views of the city has to offer - a culinary experience like nothing else bound by the laws of gravity. All customers have been provided with free UBER rides to launch flight, indicative of the reliable services and safe experiences provided by both Dinner In The Sky and its UBER official ride partner. Uber will take care of rides both to and from the experience, making sure the entire night will be a night to remember!

About Dinner in the Sky

Dinner in the Sky is a novelty restaurant service which uses a crane to hoist its diners, table and waiting staff 150 feet (50 meters) into the air. Guests are served a 1-hour long 4-course dinner prepared by renowned chefs from famous hotels and restaurants in the city.

Guests are required to fill in their personal information as well as a release of liability form.

Lockers are available for guests to store their personal belongings. Guests are allowed to take mobile phone and camera with them during the flight. Toilets are available on the ground.

The in-the-air suspended table was developed following the highest safety standards and is produced in Belgium.

Hosting 22 guests as well as 1 chef, 2 waiters and 2 safety experts, guests enjoy five-star high quality food, drinks, music and breathtaking views.

Exclusivity and Safety:

Dinner in the Sky is designed according to German safety standard DIN 4112 governing the use of flying structures, guidelines for the calculation and execution, with all drawings, calculations and simulations tested by TÜV Rheinland.

Platforms are built in Belgium and are regularly checked and maintained. Every aspect of the concept from the seatbelts to the type of crane used has been scrutinized and carefully considered to ensure maximum safety for our clients and employees.

While seated guests wear safety belts, the standing presenter and crew are secured by safety harnesses all the time during the flight. A safety supervisor will brief clients about all safety regulations prior to the flight and will be in constant communication with crane operator and ground crew so that he has a complete picture of the situation during the operation. The company invests massive attention to every detail in order to maximize security and ensure guests always feel safe.
