TP-Link Unveils Grand Vision for IoT with New Neffos Smartphone Brand

TP-Link, the world’s No.1 provider of Wi-Fi networking products with 45.94% market share, today announced its grand vision for the Internet of Things (IoT) with the official launch of its Neffos Smartphone brand and the latest Neffos series smartphones – Neffos X1 and X1 Max – with a mission to be “close to you”. This reflects a new phase in TP-Link’s transformation to grow beyond networking to smart technologies, providing users not only reliable Wi-Fi, but also a smarter life where everything can be connected through its smart home ecosystem.
Mr. Jeffrey Chao, co-founder and Chairman of TP-Link, delivered the news in a speech at the Neffos global press conference today in Berlin, Germany and highlighted four pillars of the company’s roadmap for IoT: IoT routers as the device and information hub, smartphones as the primary interface between people and devices, cloud as the service platform, together with various smart home product solutions. As the central focus of TP-Link’s smart home ecosystem, the Neffos smartphones will bring people closer to everything and everyone around them.
“TP-Link has evolved to become much more than a networking company over the past two decades as it constantly strives to meet the changing demands of our global customers,” said Chao, “The Neffos smartphones demonstrate our determination to go beyond wireless technology and make life smarter and easier for today’s connected customers with innovative products and user-centric experiences.”
At the press conference, TP-Link also introduced the intention and commitment behind Neffos’s new brand mission – “close to you” for the first time. As the most important component of the company’s smart home ecosystem, Neffos thrives to create the most human-oriented personal mobile device in the new digital era and seamlessly connect people with each other, and to the world around them.
The Neffos X series is the third smartphone series in the Neffos product line following the Neffos C and Y series. It continues to follow a human-centered approach and embodies the perfect combination of stylish design, exquisite manufacturing techniques and outstanding performance. The Neffos X1 and X1 Max are stylishly sleek with a dual-curved back, top-notch cameras and incredibly fast fingerprint unlocking. They will available in stores by Q4, 2016.
TP-Link has also launched its IoT platform app Kasa, through which users can control their smart home devices remotely and easily. Its first IoT router will be revealed in Q4 in North America. All of TP-Link’s smart IoT products will be showcased for the first time at IFA 2016 (Hall 17, Booth 111) in Berlin, Germany, which takes place on Sept. 2-7.
