THAI-UK 2016 – Maximise the Opportunities of Partnership

Thai-UK 2016 opens today, and runs from Wed 7th to Sat 10th September at BITEC to celebrate over 400 years of successful Thai-UK partnership and the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) 70th anniversary.

Thailand and the United Kingdom have shared a history of close friendship and partnership for more than 400 years beginning with the early trading routes of the late 1500’s. Today, examples of Thai-UK partnership stretch across all facets of business, education, culture and philanthropy. As a major partner and investor, the UK continues to play a significant role in the Thai economy and ‘Thai-UK 2016’ is a celebration of this partnership and a landmark for future co-operation.

I’m delighted The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. Founded in 1946, the BCCT is the oldest foreign chamber and one of the largest foreign chambers in Thailand. A lot has changed since 1946 but what hasn’t changed is Thailand’s and the UK’s commitment to partnership. The UK is one of Thailand’s most active trading and investment partners and aims to double current bilateral trade values of good and services to 528 billion Baht by 2018. Said Mr. Greg Watkins, Executive Director, British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT)

Thai-UK 2016 will be officially opened by Mr. Brian Davidson, British Ambassador to Thailand and Mr. Simon Matthews, Chairman, British Chamber of Commerce Thailand at 11am, Wed 7th September 2016.

Thai-UK 2016 is an international exhibition to celebrate Thai-UK partnership, business and culture. The event is open to the public and all are very welcome. The main attractions at the show will be:
