Stamford Takes Another International Step As It Gains IACBE Accreditation

Bangkok - the Board of Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) granted Stamford International University first-time accreditation of the business and management undergraduate programs offered through its Faculty of Business and Technology at Rama 9 Campus. This marks another international step for the university, already one of the most diverse higher education institutions in the country.

Being recognized and respected at a global level ties in with Stamford’s ethos of providing high quality international education. In 2011 the university took its place on the global stage when it joined the Laureate International Universities Network. Dr.Andrew Scown, President of Stamford International University said, “Stamford has integrated global knowledge in its programs thanks to being part of the Laureate network. We ensure that our graduates can stand out in the market supported by our “4-I” philosophy, which comprises Innovation, Industry linkage, International perspective and Integrity. It is how we tailor the program for students.”
Although Stamford was already well known, the accreditation from IACBE validates the student-centric, innovative teaching methodologies used by the university. The Faculty of Business and Technology at Stamford International University underwent rigorous self-evaluation, and a comprehensive, independent peer review. It demonstrated compliance with the Accreditation Principles of the IACBE such as: Outcomes Assessment, Strategic Planning, Curriculum, Faculty, Scholarly and Professional Activities, Resources, Internal and External Relationships, International Business Education, and Educational Innovation.

In addition, the IACBE board added that the Faculty of Business and Technology had demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education, and advancing academic quality in its business programs and operations.
“IACBE is an international standard. Our graduates will be recognized when they pursue their Master’s degree in overseas. The recognition will also increase their employability,” said Dr.Scown.

IACBE accreditation reinforces Stamford and Laureate’s mission to be “Here for Good”, both in permanence and intent. The university continues to leverage its global knowledge and use of innovation techniques, designing programs geared toward maximizing outcomes for local students as well as international students from a multitude of backgrounds.
