SACICT hosts press conference to announce its readiness to launch “The 9th Fai Tor Jai”

in commemoration of HM Queen Sirikit’s 84th Birthday
     The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACICT hosts a press conference to underline its confidence and readiness to organize “Fai Tor Jai”, the ninth annual exhibition of Thailand’s exquisite cotton textiles held under the concept of “Ultimate Stories of Thai Cotton: Love, Life and Pride” to commemorate the 84th Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s seventh cycle or 84th birthday anniversary which will fall in August 12, 2016.  In addition, this event also aims to raise awareness of young generation to realize the value of Thai hand-woven Thai cotton fabric and take a significant role in , and use Thai cotton products to carrying on the traditional wisdom and culture of Thailand sustainably, plus supporting while helping the weavers and their communities to have occupations and earn extra money sustainably, promoting the development of Thai cotton design and product innovation, increasing marketing channels for hand-woven cotton products to drive Thai economy as well as enhancing a good image of SACICT.
     Mrs. Amparwon Pichalai, CEO of The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization), said: “On behalf of SACICT, is commited to carrying on HM Queen Sirikit’s vision to see Thai people to have a better quality of life and be able to support themselves steadily. The launch of “Fai Tor Jai” is another SACICT’s initiative to provide the opportunity for entrepreneurs in cotton fabric industry to have additional channels to introduce their products in the market while stimulating learning, perceiving, and highly valuing the traditional wisdom of their ancestors. “The 9th Fai Tor Jai” has received a strong support from many organizational partners from both public and private sectors to join forces together to encourage Thai people to widely favor and use Thai cotton fabric.”
     “The private sectors that have determinedly responded and been the key driving forces for organizing this event include the I’m very delighted to have a chance to organize “Fai Tor Jai” for the ninth consecutive year to commemorate H.M. Queen Sirikit on the auspicious occasion of Her 84th Birthday Anniversary.  This year’s event will be a new dimension of SACICT to join forces with many organizations from both public and private sectors to mutually express love and loyalty to the King and the Queen through this event under the theme “Ultimate Stories of Thai Cotton: Love, Life and Pride”.
     In addition to an exquisite cotton pattern designed by SACICT, there are 4 additional distinctive patterns exceptionally designed by 4 renowned designers in Thailand including Mr. Polpat Asavaprapha from “ASAVA”, Ms. Milin Yuwacharaskul from “Milin”, Mr. Nat Mangkang from “Kloset”, Mr. Chatree Thengha from “SHAKA”.  Inspired by flora stories related to HM Queen Sirikit’s royal duties combined with the uniqueness of arts and crafts of the SUPPORT project, the 4 -top designers work together to create a limited-edition cotton fabric collection under the named “Ultimate Love & Pride” by utilizing their own brand’s distinctive patterns and designs to turn the SUPPORT cotton textiles to be more stylish and elegant.  Besides this, the event will add more remarkability with a presence of 4 famous celebrities and actresses including Mrs. Sinjai Plengpanich, Cris Horwang, Ms. Ploy Jariyavej and Mrs. Sutasanee Sorsotikul who will cooperatively create the materpieces together with mentioned designers for the first time in Thailandare passionate about Thai cotton to create these exquisite crafts together with mentioned designers for the first time in Thailand.”
     Additionally, “NaRaYa” brand has jointly designed an exclusive collection to display and distribute a total of 84 products only at this event, including additional 9 stunning collection items. Income gained from distribution will be presented to the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen (SUPPORT). “The 9th Fai Tor Jai” has also received a strong support from organizational partners including Bank of Ayudhya that has widely promoted this event via its various interactive channels while offering special promotions for Bank of Ayudhya’s card holders under supervision of Bank of Ayudhya including Krungsri Thai Credit Debit Card, Krungsri First Choice, Tesco Lotus and Central Card.  Moreover, Bangkok Mass Transit Authority will also arrange FREE air-conditioned buses for visitors on Saturday and Sunday, delivering the pick-up and drop-off point services from Mo Chit BTS Station to The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailandthe event venue
     What’s more, Department Store Group, Central Group of Companies Co., Ltd., Central Department Store Co., Ltd. and Central Pattana PCL also supports in public relations activities including providing event venues for different occasions.
     When it comes to activities and highlights at the event, “The 9th Fai Tor Jai” not only brings together over 100 quality members of SACICT across Thailand under one roof, but also gather Thailand’s top artisans praised by SACICT as ‘Thai Master Artisans’, ‘Craft Masters’ and ‘Craft Masters Descendants’ from different parts of Thailand to display the most valuable treasure of hand-woven cotton creations.  In addition, visitors will gain invaluable experience and knowledge through various demonstrations such as cotton weaving, batik making and DIY hand cotton weaving which allow visitors to be able to learn cotton weaving process and have the opportunity to create their own crafts by themselves and bring them back home as a souvenir. The can’t-miss highlight of the event is the spectacular light and sound show entitled “Ultimate Love, Life and Pride…Before Becoming a Cotton Textile” performed every day. Besides this, “Fai Tor Jai” also joins hands with “Nung Sin Kor Suay Dai” community to kick off a fun activity to give visitors some techniques to tie sarong in different ways and other activities to , portraying the beauty of sarong coupled with the fabulous sarong fashion show under the theme “Wearing Sarong to explore Fai Tor Jai” to be scheduled on the last day of the event.
     SACICT also kicks off ‘Innovative Thai Cotton Design Contest’ to create the most stylish ready-to-wear outfit, eligible for university students and young generation to win cash prize and honorable certificate from SACICT.  The 8 finalist cotton creations entered the final round will be displayed in a fashion show in front of a panel of expert judges and visitors during road show activity which will take place at Central Court, Central World on June 14, 2016.  The final round of competition and the winning announcement of ‘Innovative Thai Cotton Design Contest’, another highlight of “The 9th Fai Tor Jai”, will be officially announced on Friday, June 24, 2016 at The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand, Bang Sai District, Ayudhya,Mrs. Amparwon added.
     “The 9th Fai Tor Jai” will introduce a mascot named “Nong Fai” as a symbol to promote the event in all public relations activities.  After the press conference, SACICT will kick off 2 road shows to promote “The 9th Fai Tor Jai”.The first road show will be held from June 13-14, 2016 at Central Court, Central World and the second one to be held from June 16-17, 2016 at Government Complex, Chaeng Watthana. The opening ceremony of “The 9th Fai Tor Jai” will be presided over by HRH Princess Soamsawali at The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization),Bang Sai District, Ayudhya on June 23, 2016.
