Dell Thailand Celebrates 20 years

; Continues Its Commitment to Make a Difference in the Community, Planet
BANGKOK, Thailand, Nov 2, 2015 – Dell celebrates 20 years of success in Thailand, reinforcing its commitment to the company’s 2020 Legacy of Good plan that aims to put technology and expertise to work where they can do the most good for people and the planet.
Anothai Wettayakorn, managing director of Dell Thailand and general manager for Indochina said that over the past 20 years, Dell Thailand has continued to build its presence in the country and expanded its reach, offering IT solutions to both organisations and consumers alike. Today, as the only true end-to-end solutions provider and a wide distribution and channel partner network in the country, the company is well-positioned to serve customers nationwide.
Entering its third decade of operations in Thailand, Dell has reiterated its commitment to making a difference in the local community and environment; among others, extending its 2020 Legacy of Good initiative in Thailand. Dell Inc.’s Legacy of Good plan broadly focuses on three areas – the environment, the community and its people. The goals include making its entire product portfolio 80 percent more energy efficient; making its packaging 100 percent waste-free; and using 50 million pounds of recycled-content plastics in its products.
Among the local initiatives that will contribute to the global goals are:
  • Working with Thailand’s Ministry of Industry on its nationwide e-waste recycling project.
  • Offering energy efficient solutions to customers in Thailand
  • Collaborating with the Mirror Foundation, a community-based organization, to support its project to donate computers to schools in 20 provinces.

"Social and environmental issues are increasingly important to consumers and our enterprise customers’ operations, employees, brand and bottom lines. Customers want to operate sustainably and do business with responsible companies who incorporate sustainability in everything they do," said Anothai Wettayakorn. "With our 2020 Legacy of Good plan, we look beyond our walls to inspire sustainable practices throughout our entire ecosystem, making sustainability easier for our customers, communities and partners."

Dell continues to support Thailand’s business environment with its suite of end-to-end future-ready solutions, offering enterprise customers the technology they need for today’s IT requirements and tomorrow’s business growth.

“Our focus on customers allows us to help businesses and organizations transform the way they work to better support the customers they serve. From healthcare to education and manufacturing to retail, our technology, software and services are helping businesses become future ready,” said Wettayakorn.

Wettayakorn further reiterated the company’s commitment to the PC business and providing consumers and professionals with innovative devices that support every lifestyle and productivity needs. “We love the PC – it’s essential to Dell’s end-to-end strategy. Our focus on the PC, both the PC category and Dell’s PC business, are very much alive and well. We are focused on building innovative products and solutions that increase productivity,” he said.
In conjunction with its 20th year celebration, Dell will also organise a ‘More Dell More Deal’ nationwide roadshow to thank customers by offering attractive deals and value buys. In the coming months, Dell will also be enhancing its Dell Concept Stores to provide customers with superior in-store experience. The first improved store to open its doors will be the Dell Concept Store by Neo Shop at Central Plaza Airport, Chieng Mai.
